'WITHOUT GLORY'
Counter Insurgency Campaigning with the Cameronians (Scottish Rifles).

Our exhibition Without Glory: Counter Insurgency Campaigning with the Cameronians (Scottish Rifles), opened on 1st June 2007. The exhibition explores the regiment's involvement in three counter-insurgency campaigns: the American War of Independence, the Malayan Emergency of the 1950s and the withdrawal from Aden in 1967.

The exhibition has been very well received by both veterans and the general public, with positive feedback passed on to the staff at the Museum. Some of the items on display include a post-WWII officer's tropical tunic, a cap taken from a communist guerrilla in Malaya and the diaries of Lt. Philip R. Grant (later Major).

An audio-visual point shows British Pathe news footage of the 1st Battalion in Malay in the 1950s, a BBC Checkpoint documentary on the 1st Battalion in Aden in the 1960s, and a slide show of photographs from the collection.

The exhibition will be on display at Low Parks Museum until May 2008.
