Research Guide 'How to Research a Cameronian'

(Click to Download - Word Document. Last Updated 17th July 2008)

We do not have service records or individual service information at the Museum.

Before making an enquiry, or if you would like more general information on how to research a Cameronian, please download the Research Guide above. Included is a list of the resources we have at the Museum as well as a list of useful addresses and weblinks, and a book list. Please also read our FAQs.

Researchers can make an appointment to the Museum offices to view archival material. Appointments are made through the Museum but we need as much notice as possible so we can obtain research materials from our off-site stores.

Enquiries made to the Museum will be acknowledged and eighty percent will be answered within eight weeks. If you make an enquiry, please tell us as much information as you can, including what you already know so we do not duplicate information. Please be specific about what you would like us to try and find for you.

The Forum on this site can be a useful way to make contact with other Researchers and Cameronians, but the Museum does not formally answer enquiries in this way.

The Contact page of the website gives details on how to contact the Museum with an enquiry or to make an appointment to view material from the Archive. We do not currently charge for answering enquiries but donations are welcome.

Although the regiment disbanded in 1968, research is still active and continuing at the Museum. We hold thousands of objects and archival documents relating to the Regiment and are currently working to digitise large numbers of photographs and written records. This is being done with the help of our group of volunteers, the Friends of Low Parks Museum.
